Ladies, do much homework and research before you become emotionally attached to them. don't entertain profiles that do not have pictures posted because HECK NO he can't send pictures to your email address regardless of what "high profile" job he claims to have that supposedly keeps him from posting his pictures - THAT IS A PLAYED OUT LINE. Don't entertain profiles that claim they are "God Fearing" men whom love the Lord. These dudes have 3-4 (sometimes more) children by 2-3 women and don't know their children's birthdays or what grades they're in. So, a "God Fearing" man who SHOULD be active in church can't find his helpmeet not only in his congregation but amongst the spiritual community at that, yeah right! | Review: | Disaster - Do not Join I joined this site hoping to meet a professional black man to date and perhaps have a serious relationship with but was I disappointed. It was the worst experience ever. I agree with the reviews posted about how deceptive the men are on this site. They seem to be in it for sex. I went out with a few guys and chatted with many more. They were less than sincere and promptly moved on when I wasn't interested in having sex with them upfront. They did not seem to be interested in conversing and getting to know me at all. The quality of the matches were poor. Most of them could barely spell and some of them could not carry an intelligent conversation. The ones that appeared educated wanted casual relationships. Not the site for you if you are looking for a serious relationship. I think of these men as predators. Some of them admitted to being members forever (looking for new prey no doubt). One of my dates could not keep his hands to himself the entire time we were together on our first and only date. I should have known that he was a jerk when he started making suggestive comments to me at dinner but I was hoping that I was wrong. After all in his profile he boasted about being a gentleman. But by the end of the night I felt unsafe and unclean. I was lucky that I got home safely. Beware ladies. If you choose to join make sure you that you take care of your safety. I've only been a member for a brief time and haven't had any real interaction as of yet but i was overlooking these reviews and felt discouraged of the male bashing and so fourth. I am a young black male and i honestly consider myself a very decent guy. I'm noticing a pattern of "liars" and "sex addicts" in these posts and I'm not sure if these are a bunch of jaded, suspicious females jumping conclusions or if the male population really appears that awful. I just wanted to say don't be discouraged ladies... some of us are okay and its annoying and frustrating how the immature men overwhelm the decent and make is harder on us. | Review: | Nothing's Perfect! I never had any problems with the site within itself. It's very simple and basic. I have had some positive and negative associations with the members. The biggest was the fact that some of the men I conversed with were solely interested in having sex. It appears to have something to do with their ego's. I guess they've slept with all the females who would allow them to in there hometown and decided to make a wider search. I have no problem if that's what they want to do. However, that's not what I was looking for. I have met some men in person and chatted with many who I can add as a friend. I like the site better than eharmony or anything like that because it is "real". A note of advice, there are alot of men and I'm sure also woman on here merely for the "game" but there are some who are serious. Don't let anyone ever rush you into a meeting or giving your phone number until you feel comfortable to do so. Ladies there are sooo many ways you can at least check the guy out and verify if he's being truthful.There are many free sites that will tell you a persons age, All you need is the name and home state. you can check local tax rolls if he claims to own property. There are public records that show you family court cases, Civil cases ect, See if he's been sued for child support. charged with domestic violence or what ever. You can check criminal and traffic court records also. Of course all of this is only neccessary if it's someone that you may be seriously considering a relationship with. Just remember you must do your homework regardless of how you meet a person these days, And this goes for the guys also. With all of that said I feel that one dating site is as good as the next, Becuz it greatly expands the pool of people that will cross your path. It was very easy to navigate, I did not experience problems with being logged off, and I met some very nice men who actually matched their profile. During a 60-day period I was contacted by over 200 men and was able to easily weed out the good from the bunch, it is to be expected to have some fools on these sites, but the site cannot control that. Reading the reviews of others here makes me think that maybe the site is filled with folks just looking sex. Let's face it, the internet makes that convenient. You can't fault the site for that, fault the folks that post there. In my case, I don't receive a whole lot of attention when I post that I'm looking for friendship or a pen pal. | Review: | Don't waste your time Being new to online dating, I gave this site a try. The quality is poor. Even when I declined matches, they would still send messages. I paid for an "upgrade" via e-check and it took weeks to clear and allow me access to the rest of the site. I didn't appreciate some of the language and topics people felt so comfortable including in their profiles. | Review: | Overall Review of this Website This is the "cheesiest" website I have ever experienced. It is chocked full of loosers,players,freaks, and liars. I am happy that I have a great sense of humor because this webiste is a complete joke. As the other reviewer stated you get what you pay for and this is a very "cheap" website. | Review: | False Advertising BlackPeopleMeet will not delete the profiles of discontinued members. This gives people the impression you are an available member when you are not. This site also offers "free" membership, as well as the upgraded membership. The free membership does not allow you the use of ANY services except to look at profiles, and to see who has looked at yours. You cannot see who has winked or sent email to you, nor can you read those messages. Tango Wire seems to have the best accessibility to services, whether you are a paid or unpaid member. | Review: | Agree with Don. Quality of Site I really tried to give the website a chance. I agree with the previous reviewer. Kicks you off when you are viewing profiles. Throws you off the site requiring you to re-login when you were already in the site. Instant messaging system sucks. Go into profile and there are messages sitting there but, not notified. It's very frustrating to navigate through the website when it kicks you off every other click. It's practically impossible to do a search and you can forget using the instant messaging feature.
