Review: Full of Liars, Married Men, & Non-US Citizens!
I opened my profile and right away got a few hello's. I met up with one guy who I thought was nice and cute. The guy goes by the profile name Leon79. Watch out! On the first meetup this guy said he loved me and wanted to marry me?? I knew he was a liar from the start! Within 4-5 meetups I discovered this guy was full of lies! He gave me a fake name, fake age, he is married! I found this out by doing a google search after I got his real name. He is not a american citizen yet. The guy is 29 and married to at 56 yr old woman just to get a green card!! He lives with his aunt who pays all his bills and even washes his clothes!! He got 2-3 kids! not sure how many because he lied about everything. His MO is that his aunt was married to a famous person so he tries to come off like he has money! However, he can't even pay his own rent! In fact, he is full of DEBT! From his wife! I dumped him after 3 months of hell because I could not trust him, every conversation I found out a new lie about him! He seemed so nice but obviously had a problem with telling the truth. POF doesn't screen good enough and he is back on the site seeking his next victim to lie to!! The guy's real name is JU*EY and he is married and a big liar!! Please be warned! If you come across a light skinned guy from GHANA....RUN FOR UR LIFE!!!! He is nothing but a liar looking for sex! He can't marry u because he is already married! He can take care of you because he has no money and lives with his aunt! So the only thing he wants is sex!!!! Run Run! I am currently dating a new wonderful man who is not a liar and has his stuff together and I didn't meet my new BF on POF! Ladies please be patient and god will provide for you a good man!

Review: HPV
My ex is on plenty of fish. Watch out for heyjr. He has HPV. Just saying. I didn't know this but the whole time we were together 2 years he had a POF profile now he has 2. So sick. I can't believe what a loser he turned out to be, on top of it all now I'm dealing with High Risk HPV cancer cells on my cervix from this guy. He should be reported but you can't report stuff like this on that site to warn the other girls who will fall into and get it from him. Sickening.

Review: Plentyoffreaks!
This is by far the worst experience ever! Not only is the website full of undesireable people but it's full of low life scum who are single for a reason. I've never seen so many men with issues or impaired charges in my life who think you have nothing better to do then drive them around like your thier personal taxi driver. I wasn't put on this earth to be punished for "your crimes". I've gone through every experience possible from having a date cancelled because he had to tend to his dirty laundry, to being told about his genital warts that he claimes are relatively harmless during dinner,(have you googled that shit?)lol, to someone claiming to be from my city when he actually lived 2,201 klm's from my city, ladies beware of Doug(Douglas)Robinson of Chester Virginia usa, total stalker!!!

Review: Needy, greedy bitches!
Not one genuine person on this site. I went on 8 dates and all they want is a free dinner, which they're glad to mooch off of you, if you're sucker enough to be on this site. If Western women are all like the 8 emotionally-bankrupt, greedy bitches I met, then it's no wonder white men are either turning gay or dating Asian girls. 8 dates in 2 weeks ain't bad, but I'd have had more fun and saved time and money by going to a massage parlor twice.

Review: Online dating
Being male... After trying the POF site for about 3 days, I found someone to date and dated. The main problem I saw with the site was that women outnumbered men by about nine to five in most categories. I also noted that about half of the men were ridiculously immature. This might not have anything to do with the POF site itself, but more of the trend of how MEN simply aren't interested in WOMEN.

As for me - being a statistical enthusiast... You could say that the chances of an actual match for a possible date is about eight to two (per week) for women and reverse for men.

This site is actually very decent! I tried EHarmony & Match.com ; And they don't let you access any of your inbox or any of the other features plentyoffish offers for free. That means whatever POF offers is going to be cut into one-half (taking twice as long). I would say - the POF site is probably the most REAL site you can get for online dating. And men just aren't going to pay to try something they don't know will work or not.
This is not to say that it does not work. I've met people that found romance. About only 1 in 20 positive hookups are done online and usually after several months.

I'm just saying that if you spot a real man, message him as fast as you can or you are going to lose. There are just more prospective fish for him!

Review: full of cheaters, scammers, and sex addicts
Plenty of Fish is full of men that are nothing but bottom feeders. I have met married men pretending to be married. I have been showed men's "junk" without requesting to see it" via text pictures and web chat before even meeting (thinking I was being a safe dater), I have dated a gentleman for months to only discover he had been on multiple sites and scamming me out of my money as I thought we were building a life together - he is an officer. Turns out he did the same to other women. I caught him by making a "fake profile". Unfortunately, that is why one may find some false profiles up; we have to catch those addicted to these dating sites; he was also addicted to Match.com.

Internet Dating had become an easy way for many people to cheat. They use multiple websites. My ex admitted it. He had a fetish with it; he got a "high" from checking for an e-mail.

Many men, the more professional the more common, have come to use these sites as sex sites; thinking it's an easy one night stand - much easier than picking up a woman in a bar. We woman who have class and dignity who are vulnerable, avoiding the bar scene, fall for their charm.

It is sad. It is wrong. We have to start speaking out. I am sure men have discovered the same; I do not mean to be biased here. I a speaking from experience. I joined personally because I recently moved to LA. I am divorced only a year. My friends are all married. I thought it was a safe way to meet men. I was very wrong. Lesson learned. I got hurt emotionally, financially, and even physically. I have been stalked. But I hope to save another from my harsh lesson learned in a very brief time.

God bless.

Review: Lonely, Desparate Liars Would Love It!!
The absolute worst site on the web for dating. Liars, fake profiles, lowest forms of life frequent the site. They will say the things you want to hear. It's all lies! Save your time. If you want to try online dating you should ALWAYS proceed with caution, but this site....stay away! The most desparate women on the face of the earth just looking to "hook" someone! The women on this site can't get a man any other way!

Review: WATCH OUT FOR SCANDALOUS PEOPLE
I found a girl to date on pof and she ruined my life.Online dating is not for me.She used me for a place to live and was openly using pof to find another victim/idiot/guy to use for money ect. while she was living with me and refused to leave. It cost me my place and thousands of dollars to get rid of her.I think she planned the whole thing from jump and I was too stupid to realize I was being taken avantage of.I had plenty of girls live at my place prior to her (none of which I met online) and had no problem kicking them out when things went bad.She stomped on me when I was good to her and used pof to date other guys while I was trying to get her out of my house. It was too late after I thought I could trust her-I realized that Im not gonna date any girl I meet online.BOTTOM LINE:IF YOU DATE SOMEONE YOU MEET ONLINE AND ITS NOT WORKING OUT AFTER A WHILE,BREAK ALL TIES QUICKLY CAUSE MORE THAN LIKELY,ONE OR IF NOT BOTH PEOPLE WILL BE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE WHILE CLAIMING TO STILL BE WITH U.SITES LIKE POF MAKE IT EASY FOR A SUCKER TO GET USED.I WILL NEVER TRY TO FIND A WOMAN ONLINE AGAIN,ID RATHER BE SINGLE THE REST OF MY LIFE.POF IS FULL OF LOW-LIFES LOOKING FOR A FREE RIDE

Review: It's as good as you are!
POF is simply a site that accepts all members, really. They cannot police it. You need to take responsibility for your own search criteria and use common sense, same as anywhere else.

I have a profile there and have met some very nice, educated professional guys, and had some lovely relationships. I didn't meet any weirdos, nor did any write to me...men who wrote were seeking bona fide relationships. But then, I am discerning, I wrote a truthful profile with lots of recent photos, and look for men who have invested time and openness in what they say on theirs.

It's such a human trait to blame the site, the company, the service provider for the fact that there are married men, fakes etc out there. The ones to be blamed are the ones who post the info. I find the site absolutely fair and it's free. As far as I can tell, I'm about to meet great guy #3 off there....

Stop whining and get on with it.

Review: Not bad but expelled me
I have been on that site for 6 months,
overall it was wonderful,
met a few good women there.
Good features (although there are areas for improvements, like add Language there), nice Forums.
But... one day it started misbehaving - some features turned off. I tried to contact customer service, but instead of helping they said that I violated Terms and Conditions (no explanation what exactly), they closed my profile, and later would not let me open a new one.
Several times I asked for explanation, but they didn't. And about same time few related sites (e.g. evow.com) closed my profile. I still have no idea why......
Good thing I can see other sites I should try !

Review: Plenty of Fakes
Plenty of Fish recently made the news after it was used as a way to set people up for robberies here in Canada. (Jan 6/2011)

The women on POF in Canada are mostly bottom-dwellers of various varieties.

But if you're looking for easy sex with fat chicks, it's a chubby-chaser's dream site.

Review: would i recommend site to others? HELL NO
Okay to put it bluntly after three months of a " serious " membership I had went on 1 date. Just one. and it turned out she was exactly how her profile described. I think she was one of the FEW REAL people on the site. Anyone who says " this site is great " is a liar and are probably POF staff or have been bribed. Just to mention they use photos of people from facebook without permission.

Review: POF IS NOW A SEX-LINK SCAM USING POF DATABASE
ATTENTION POF USERS -- THIS A FORNER POF MEMBER -- SCREENAME "KTTENGUY" AND I AM WARNING YOU AS A FORMER POF USERS WHAT POF HAS DONE. THIS IS NOT A SCAM AND NOT POF -- THIS IS FROM A FORMER POF MEMBER --

POF IS USING US ON A "SIMLA ADULT DATING AND SEX SITE"

THEY CHANGED THEIR FORMAT AND TECHNIQUE A LITTLE WHEN THEY KNEW THAT I CAUGHT THEM BUT IT IS STILL GOING ON

POF IS SELLING ITS OWN SEX SITE USING YOUR PROFILE DATABASE

I DISCOVERED THAT POF HAS SET UP A SITE THAT POPS UP APPEARING TO BE A SIMLA (COLORADO) FREE SEX SITE WHICH IS CONNECTED TO ALL POF DATA FILES SO YOU CAN POP UP THERE TOO.

MANY OF YOU, AND PROBABLY ALL OF YOU ARE ON THE DATABASE FOR THE "FREE SEX" SET UP BY POF -- IT IS POF. WE ARE POPPING UP ON THAT SITE -- I FOUND IT WHILE GOOGLING MY WEBSITE -- ********.COM-- MAKES IT LOOK ON AOL SEARCH LIKE WE ARE ALL ON AN ADULT/SEX SITE.

HERE IS WHAT AN AOL (and maybe GOOGLE?) shows -- and I found some of you ladies on there too-- too many 2 notify individually :

"Free Simla sex personals, Simla adult dating , Simla Adult ...
*******.COM --CHECK IT OUT "******* / 47 Single Man Seeking Women ...

www.plentyoffish.com/personals/20820onlinedating3.htm - Similar

WITH THAT WE ARE ALL AT RISK SINCE IT SHOWS THAT POF IS "PARCELLING OUT" OUR NAMES BASED UPON LOCATION TO SATELLITE WEBSITES FOR THAT REGION BUT THE PROBLEMs ARE THAT NO ONE AUTHORIZED THAT (I DID NOT ) AND IT SHOWS UP AS SHOWN ABOVE AS A SEX SITE ON AOL SEARCH -- HAVE NOT LOOKED AT GOOGLE -- WEAK STOMACH FOR POSSIBLE RESULTS BUT TRY IT.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE HEADING SEZ "Free Simla sex personals, Simla adult dating , Simla Adult ..."

sooooooooooooooooo EVERY TIME A SEARCH IS DONE FOR SEX SITES IN THE AREA (WHO KNOWS HOW LARGE AN AREA IS COVERED) THEN THIS POPS UP . . .

AND WE ARE ALL ON IT SINCE IT IS POF.

NOTE -- EVEN THOUGH YOU REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE SITE THE LINK WILL STILL APPEAR IN AN AOL SEARCH -- ANOTHER WEBSITE DID THE SAME THING RECENTLY AND I GOT OFF OF THAT ONE AND THE AOL SEARCH STILL SHOWS UP FOR THAT SITE-- BAD NEWS ALL AROUND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL OR WORKING MOM OR SEARCHING FOR A JOB

OR NOT A SEX SITE SHOPPER

AS A BUSINESSS OWNER I DON'T WISH TO HAVE THAT POP UP WHEN SOMEONE SEARCHES FOR *********.COM FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. IT IS NOT TRUE.

I AM TRYING 2 FIND AWAY TO NOTIFY POF TO GET THEM / HIM TO DROP THE HEADING BUT IN THE INTERIM WE ARE ALL EXPOSED AND AT RISK.

CONTACT ME IF U HAV Q's

HIS NAME IS MARKUS FRIND, CANADIAN, AND U HAV 2 GET HIS INFO FROM A SECURED REGISTRY ABOUT HIS ADDRESS BUT IT CAN BE DONE

IF U R A GODADDY CLIENT THEY CAN ASSIST YOU IN GETTING THE INFO

FOR NOW I HAVE DELETED ALL OF MY INFORMATION AND I AM USING THIS SPACE TO TELL ALL OF YOU WHAT POF HAS DONE -- THIS IS A SCAM TO BY POF

I have been on POF for just a few days and am having a panic attack. I was stupid and filled out all the forms they insisted I need. They described one about how a man can seduce you. I thought it was so that we could get personal info based on this survey as to how to avoid predators. They said it was confidential. I filled it out with personal info such as what turns me on and sexual preferences. I hit ENTER and then got a note that it wouldn't be on my profile but anyone could click on a site to read all the info!!!! Anyone out there no know how to delete this stuff? PLEASE!!!

Review: PLENTY OF FISH CONFIRMED SCAM
In my opinion Plenty of Fish is a total scam. I ask many of you on here. You have to think if there were real women on the site looking for a date they would not just view your profile they would send you and email and If you get a wants to meet you alert from some who would want to meet you; you would not have a alert all she would have to do is email you. Lets face it. Its bull-shit and I rate it Zero.

Review: Be careful
I feel I should express my concerns the standard of people that use this site. It is a hideout for those that cannot socialise normally. I was on so admit some guilt but my main reason was because I work long hours and it was a way of socialising. Anyway I met a guy who seemed real then it turned out he was in prison, got very controlling and decided to make me think someone was out to harm me. In a nutshell he wouldn't take no to being dumped so he stole my car and burnt it out. Beware ladies, trust your instincts and be very careful who you meet. I'm not over this so had to make some kind of warning to others. He is also on match.com and maybe even others, who knows.

Review: It worked for me...
I hate to admit this, but I have had mostly positive experiences on POF. I wrote a very real, legitimate, accurate profile and made sure to place my settings to weed out drug users, married people, etc. Based on the emails I would exchange, I could pretty much gauge if they were someone worth meeting. I went out with 2 complete wackos, and 5 nice guys who were all employed, educated, mentally stable, but didn't want to spend money on a dating site...which is understandable because I didn't want to spend the money on it either! Maybe it just depends on the area you live in as to how successful you can be?

I met a guy on there who lied to me about his NAME!! Ladies, for God's sake, if you're lonely enough to settle for resorting to a free trashbag site like POF, PLEASE ask to see a driver's license before you let them touch you!!! ANYBODY who refuses has something to hide, so RUNNNNN as fast as you can!!! Get their name and date of birth and you can do a search at Personal Property Registry for cheap to see if the person has a child support order registered against them. I found out this last guy owes over $35,000 to his ex!!!!! Lots of losers on there looking for a sugar momma!!!! BEWARE!!!!

Review: You make your own choices on these sites
Personally I had a great experience with POF. I tried other "paid" on line dating services and found they didn't have a great selection in what I personally was looking for in a mate although I had some wonderful correspondences with some great guys. I'm a single parent with two kids, don't like night clubs and wasn't even working when I joined POF (not because I was lazy but because my kids and I went through a traumatic experience that gave me no choice at the time), so I had extra time on my hands while they were at school and while I was looking for a job. More importantly, I truly wanted to meet someone and have a "long term" relationship.
Not to boast... but most of the messages I got from guys told me I was the best looking woman on the site with the most sincere profile (I disagree with the part about being the best looking), although I am an honest person. I probably got at least ten messages a day. First of all...I didn't care much what the guy looked like, it's not all about looks for me (unless they didn’t have a shirt on or were covered in tattoos), I would at least thank them for their compliments. I figured if they took the time to read my profile in the first place then they DESERVE to be thanked. We are all lonely and need someone to talk to (good looking or not) that's why we're on these sites in the first place and the women on POF should still be kind to them. I also thought it was important to be careful though with the ones I wasn't attracted to or didn't feel would be a match for me, as I did not want to lead them on either. I went on three dates from POF. The first one wanted to get married after the second date, the second was a spoiled doctor who whined about "not getting his way" and third date..well, let's just say, "the third time was a charm." Once I realized I had a main interest in someone I met from POF I took my profile off. I think that was the "fair thing" to do. Otherwise it's kind of like "false advertising" if you're not really available or your "involved" with someone then you should take your profile off. I met an incredible guy on POF and I'm looking forward to a lasting relationship with him and if it doesn't work out I'll be back, but I'm hopeful. My point is this... all of these dating sites paid or not have good and bad matches, that's life. Try to choose the ones you decide to date very carefully, be kind to the ones you don't (who knows you might even make a friend) and if it doesn't work out take it as a "learning experience" and "move on." I have learned over the years that NOTHING in life is a guarantee except GOD so enjoy life and be happy with "yourself" weather you have a "mate" or not and everything else will eventually fall into place.

Review: SHE HID HER SEX CHANGE SURGERY AND SHE WAS A MAN
I am a bi-sexual lesbian and was honest from the start in my profvilke. Met a tall sexy blonde who is very popular and in a band too, drum player. we met for a intimate encounter, date and had sex the first night. she was very tall over 6'4", broad shoulders and flat ass. Tits like tight blown up balloons. Since we were drinking later I thought well she was nice maybe I date her again. She wanted the very next wknd which blew me away. But this time I drank less and observed more. Her private area was not pretty she claim she had an hysterectomy vaginally.A friend encouraged me to look into it and I found out she has a transgender site, etc. cincyfilms.com Jenelle Rose. She does notr use her last name here Murray at this makeup site. she is also on FB as jenelle rose murray. She finally confess after I cornered her with the truth and had the nerve to ask me what diff did it make. With me all the diff in the world.
I have a man who allowed me to seek females but not man. She messed that up, broke my trust and caused me to be so hurt. It was like rape to me she took from me what I would have never given freely not to a man. This is wrong whether you dislike me or not this is still wrong. So beware. Her most popular pic is in a red dress head turn to the side with blonde hair it is on FB that way.

Review: Depends when and where
I've had two very different experiences with POF. In 2004, I moved to Virginia
and had a fling with a total gorgeous woman who was divorcing her husband. It was revenge sex, no holds bar type. She was a bit neutrotic too.
Last year living in a different State I signed back up again, basically I am looking for fun flings. Nothing.
Don't even bother with Intimate Encounters, Dating, mostly single mothers who have little time and want a good man who will take off the stress or divorcees trying to get back into the dating scene.

Review: Just like all dating sites - a load of rubbish
This site is no better than all the rest. Sure its free but you get what you pay for - nothing but rubbish.

What is our world coming to. Are our life partners going to become expendable. If you are not satisfied just find a better one on the internet.

Love has no guarantees and refund or return of damaged goods is not the answer.

People learn some people skills instead of sitting in front of a computer all day and get out in the real world and meet your perfect match. Then work on your relationship together.

Partnerships are not a 50% 50% deal they require 100% effort by both parties.

I have visited my last dating site and have removed all my profiles.

Good luck everyone in your search for happiness.

Review: POF What a Scam
I just went to log into my account and and could not. I did a search for my user name and it said the account had been deleted by the member. I never deleted my account. I was actually signing in to delete my account though. I have been on three dating sites and they are all the same. I really hate to say it but what has happened to our society. Is everyone trying to scam someone? Is it neccessary to lie in order to get a date? Be yourself people! Anyway, in conclusion I am deleting my profile from any dating sites. They are all the same. I will take my chances in the real world.

Review: What a load of rubbish!
Basically on this site, you get what you pay for - nothing. I was quite surprised at the total lack of respect anyone seems to have on that site for anyone else. Usual story, sending loads of emails, with no reply. The two dates I did go on were a disaster. One guy smelt absolutely awful and the other stood me up. Neither looked anything like their profile pics. The stress that this messing about caused me made the whole experience not worth the effort.

The site features were quite good, but there is no way of contacting POF that I could find, so no customer service at all.

This site needs to be treated with the contempt it deserves. As my mum used to say - you pay your money, you take your choice ....

Review: We get what we pay for...
I'll preface this brief review by stating I'm referring to people 45+ years of age.

Almost ALL of the people on fish do NOT believe in internet dating/matchmaking and treat each other accordingly. That is why they are on the free site. All of the bad internet cliches take place here. (Inaccurate pics, lying, hidden agendas, ridiculous standards...you name it). Absolutely the WORST relationship site available. I think this is more of a reflection of our culture...the site gives you a LOT for free.

While far from perfect, Match is a thousand times more rewarding. Match will ask the "right questions"...ie, income preferences, etc.

**REMEMBER**...the attitude toward internet originated relationships is KEY!

Review: Plenty of Fish is just as bad as the other sites
When this site started in 2003 or around there, Markus Frind, who is the owner of Plenty of Fish, may have had good motives.
In the last few years, that has changed. One of the biggest complaints on the site is the poor customer service. The moderators of his forum get away with breaking rules and having bad attitudes. Despite numerous complaints, he won't do anything about it.
His site is full of people with mental issues. There is even one member on his site who is a sexual deviant. This person has seeked sex with underage girls.
You are better off trying to find a mate in your real life. Think about who would be the type that needs the internet to find a partner?

Review: I've half a mind to join PlentyOfFish
And half a mind is what you'll need! The site is an ad-infested mess where you never find what you're looking for, and they push you around like sheep.

One day I was told to reveal my salary or be disadvantaged on the site. A few days later, they make it MANDATORY to tell them about my longest relationship. When I didn't, I received this message:

"You can not view or reply to messages until you update your relationship history below."

and was barred from accessing my own profile or messages until I'd done as I was told!

Sure there are a lot of people on the site. Think of other ghettos in the world that are very densely populated!

I would have complained to customer services, but there is no way of contacting P O F that I can find.

Even if you try to resign, they make you choose from their pathetic range of reasons for doing it rather than telling them the real reason.

As for me, I swam off.

Review: Another take on POF
I really resent when men say that ALL the women are subpar on POF. I happen to be above average in looks, I'm educated, I know how to cook and AM NOT FAT. I just started a business so I'm not bringing in too much money and I have a house so I don't have a lot of cash. This seems to irk men because now men are very superficial. After taking you out they think they need payback and I disagree with this.
they don't think they should pay for anything because they are no longer men it seems to me. I like an ambitious guy who has a good job, is respectful, and takes care of himself.. and there is nothing wrong with that . Unfortunate
ly most men I've met have been fat , cheap, alchoholics or other substance abusers or just don't like women. I think people should take a chance and go on the site..maybe
they'll be lucky but unlikely.

Review: Its free, of course there is another story to it,
I used this site and came to realize that anyone who says is average is a fatty! I actually met someone and was the biggest disappointment!AVERAGE does not equal 200lbs!
It was good to try it since is free, however I find most profiles to be really stupid, Just read some of the girl's profiles! its simple there is a reason why they are there! beware 1 out of 10 is a good find if your lucky, so don't expect wonders.
Best bet, get some courage and find people out somewhere,
Anyways, try it for yourself and find out if you want, its free anyways.

Review: Wishing for Decent "Fish"...
I just joined this site about a week ago and I have to say...I've been contacted by the bottom of the barrel little "boys".
I went on one date although it was creative and fun, but the guy turned out to be a complete LOSER, looked nothing like the picture that was posted. (In fact, I still am not sure he was even the same dude in the pic.)...pretty much moved his crap into my car and requested I drop him off at a friend's house after the date. I was unaware I was "fishing" for the homeless.
I've already had to block one user from contacting me because he kept sending me emails and wasn't getting the hint when I never responded.
As a side note...I actually paid for a 3-month membership today thinking it would improve my chances...Well...now I can't even get on to the POF (POS) website...tells me some error about the web address no longer being valid...GREAT....I'm out $40.00...Rather convenient, don't you think???

I can not access my profile to delete it again. Anyone that tries to contact me is told "that she does not accept emails with your criteria" So he is using my image and words, basically hawking me as a piece of marketing bait. Time for legal action.

Review: I am a new user of POF
I am not sure why POF is receiving such bad reviews, I tried this site and within the first couple of days I was already on a date, and it really was a wonderful experience. I am not sure about scammers, I was a member totally free and chatted with real women who were truely interested in me. Yes there are Men and Women who were cheating on their spouses but that was catagorized as intimate encounters, those who were not interested were automatically blocked from receiving e-mails from them. This site to me was genuine in there approach, and cannot be blammed for users who were taken advantage of POF. I recommend trying this site if your interests are above board, smart surfers should be able to weed out the crap to find true love on this site.

The dating part of the site sucks.

Neocons do not survive on POF Forums.

Men get harrassed by players or women who do no live in the country. Some men enjoy the attention, until roped into money or other things.

Can't believe the numbe of married people who will contact you if you have no blocker up.

The moderators are a bunch of Chumps.
Ex moderators who were banned come back more critical than before of posters.
Ex moderator Alpha_Spresley even has a girl friend sock pocket. SHe backs him up in everything he saids in forums.

My suggestion if you want to meet someone find another site, join a singles group, or any other option.

Review: Perfect and free
Ok so i have been testing out a number of dating sites and have come across some bad ones aswell as some good ones. This one in my opinion is the best. One it is free and two there is a wide variety of people that use it. Yes profiles can be misleading but that is only the fault of the creator of the profile. Face it, some people will lie on their dating profiles so they can get attention. However, those profiles that are accurate are dependable. I have never come across a fake profile in the 2 years that i have been testing this website. I have however come across real people's profiles who put up fake pictures that are not themselves and thus once reported they were deleted. I would and have recommended this site.

Review: Plenty of Crap
The headline sums it up.

I did meet one nice gal, but she turned out to be a headcase after a few months. Lots of low self-esteem on that site.

I found myself getting contacted by "hot" women who turned out to be scammers. They start by telling you that you are amazing looking, then it leads into some story about a tragedy in their family or loss of income, and then the request to send them money to help get Billy Bob out of prison. This applies to women. They pray on them the most.

The other thing I find a joke is the status of "Talk/E-mail". I'm sorry, but if you are on a dating website, you're not there to just find a pen-pal. That's a stupid status that should be removed.

Plenty of Fish is a breeding ground for the undesirables and unfortunately the genuine people, those who posted reviews, fell victim to its ease of access. Let's face it, when other sites charge you $34.99 for a month membership, free looks really good.

But, the old saying applies - you get what you pay for.

Avoid this site like the plague.

Review: fake women wall to wall
I signed up and started to look through profiles and saw how many women were lying about themselves with old pictures.
One woman called Maria27 was clearly fat, obese, overweight, call it what you want. She described her body as athletic. Pretty, yes, but still FAT!!!She went on to say in her profile "I AM HONEST". I wrote to her asking, how can you be overweight and call yourself honest? After she read my email, my profile was deleted.
No problem, I used the advice in an earlier post to recreate the profile in 5 minutes.
I learned, the liers stay, those that call out the truth disappear.
The site is a scam. It's a front for harvesting your email and selling it to spammers. I had created a hotmail account just for registering to that site, no one else knows it, and within days, I started to get a flood of spam on that account.

Review: Worst men on the dating scene
You know POF is free, so the men are cheap to begin with. Most of them are broke, ugly, fat, druggies, users, liars, cheats, criminals, abusers and worse. There may be one good guy on there, but then he would not last long since he would be scooped up. Be very wary of the profiles that have been there for years, or reappear every few months. These men are serial daters and have personality problems, as well as pot or alcholol addictions.

Be very wary of a jerk that lives in Calabash, NC and goes to Baltimore, MD often. He is a horrible excuse for a person and is a pathological liar.

Review: For Play Only
Short answer ...

If you're interested in trading off multiple sex partners with others doing the same thing, POF will provide that for you ... IF as a guy you date down a little bit.

Otherwise ... it's a useless site.

Review: POF Works - at least here in Belfast!
Having had an active POF profile for the last three months, I can attest that it actually works. Sure, a lot of profiles are dodgy, but most seem genuine, and applying common sense, I've met several lovely people (and someone particularly special). I couldn't ask for anything more from a dating site, especially something that's totally free. Maybe all the negative comments above stand as testament to the POF userbase in the relevant area (US, etc).

Review: Fakes all the way 'round
1/3 of the profiles here are fake anyway.....ever write to guys too handsome and educated to be here yet you get a read/deleted right away?? Decoys...
Many are gags, last week, girlfriend and I created a profile of a 35 year old hot chick who was pure nympho...she had a masters, senior VP of a bank, and liked golden and brown showers, toes sucked, everything under the sun. Yet, none of the 8 pictures of her matched. 8 completely different pictures of women, varying in age 25 - 50 years old...small boobs, big saggy ones, blonde, brunette, hell, we even threw in an asian....

in 24 hours, I read 322 emails from the GTA, all wanting to meet, and no one picked up the fact that there is no way a senior VP with an MBA would prosti tute herself like that, and none of the pictures matched.
About 10 even gave out their phone numbers....others yelled when the email was read deleted, calling me names....they got the "Call me then at 41 6 XXX XX XX number that the others had furnished...

Nothing is ever what it seems in this world my dear...go to daterater.org and read up on PoF, about how the real purpose of this site is to make money by selling that email adress you provided to spammers....did you notice an increase in junk mail lately? They have hired hindus to extrat pictures of people - hot people - off the web and create fake profiles around them...all are in sales, marketing, glamour jobs, severely good looking people who cant get a date? Remember the ones who were on 366 favorites and would never reply.....yeah, decoys to get more to sign up, the ones who add you to favorites but never write, making you think there is someone out there...more decoys...

Man, one day, you should see if santa and the easter bunny are real!

Review: Not getting deleted again on PoF!
I have to say, this site is interesting for many reasons.
Fake profiles? Yes!
Losers? Yes!
Opportuists? Yes!
Moochers out for a free meal and drinks? Yes!
Man haters? Absolutely YES! Just read some of the responses here. The bitter angry man hating women who were dumped and want to take it out on the world LOVE the PoF forums, and even here, they spew their bitter venom at any man who calls it as he sees it.

Just like real life. Weed through the bad and you will find the good ones.

I've had numerous dates over the years.
Even learned to play the sex game.
Took me a while to figure the place out. School of hard knocks, basically. Take your lumps, learn, and move on.

I had my profile deleted many times because I refuse to suck up to the bitter boozehags, defend myself for my words and actions, and *poof*, gone!

If 8 - 10 people block you, your profile will get deleted, because it's YOU and not THEM that has the problem, got it? :) :)

The site is absolutely full of hateful bitter angry jilted society rejects, and they will take it out on YOU!

Here is how to start again.

When your profile gets deleted, PoF places a cookie in your computer, in the cookies folder. This folder is generally hidden and even harder to find in Vista. Do a google search on how to find that folder and delete this cookie!
Otherwise, when you redo your profile, it will read the cookie, compare it to the list of people blacklisted, and delete you again.

Your email has also been blacklisted, so go to yahoo, hotmail or anyone else and create a new email account. Use that email to set up new profile. If you just write fhrgt@cfhvhf.com, the welcome email will bounce back and your account will be deleted for being fake.

Upload new pictures. There is metadata in pictures, camera type, date taken, i.d. number such as DCSF4236.jpg, and it compares those to the database as well..and will delete your account. I once had mine deleted because one image showed me in front of a mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, a blacklisted country. Some admin saw the mosque and figured I lived there, and deleted my profile and account. I recreated it, using the steps above. A month later, all was fine, I uploaded that picture of me and instantly the account disappeared.

Those are the backdoor rules of staying alive and not getting deleted.
If your profile is gone, follow the steps above to get a new one, and remember to save the page first, "File --> Save" from your browser so you wont have to remember what you wrote. Also save your favorites list so you can re-connect with the new profile.

Review: I've changed.
Now I am not going to pretend I am not a "loser" by society standards. I am currently unemployed and enjoying my time after years of the crappiest job ever :P ..I am on a deserved break.
Also I do not drive. But that END my list of baggage and issues, the end, that's it.

I am 29, pretty attractive. Real pics, honest, open, genuine, drug free, alcohol free, child free, not frigid and honestly there to meet love.
I support myself pretty well and take care of my looks. I can hold a conversation and do not have a fake bone in my body.

I did find many men with good jobs, nice cars, good looks (who cares).. What lies underneath is horrible issues.
He can shove his superficial qualities, because I'm out!
They all had more than one of these:
-Anger problems.
-Limp penis.
-Massive debt.
-Lies on their profiles.
-Problems with drugs/alcohol.
-Bad parenting.
-Woman haters.
-Illiterates (someone wrote their profile for them).
-Chickens.
-Users, you know, pretend to love you for sex.
-talk lke ths yo, git bck two me
-GREENER PASTURES SYNDROME OF THE LIKES YOU'VE NEVER SEEN!

I KNOW am not a REAL loser like these people I have met and have got burned by.
I met a man who drove a new car and was a nurse, is he a loser? ...He used me to fix his computer then held my stuff for ransom, calling in a nasty tone, hammered, telling me I will get it back when he feels like it, is he a loser now?

I have changed so much! There is a test site where you can do personality tests. Before POF my dating personality was a kind and gentle, commitment girl..
I retook the test after a couple years of POF and now I am "The Sudden Disappearance". The test doesn't know what I've been through lol..

I only recommend it because if you do not take it seriously, unlike other sites, people will actually MEET.

Review: Take A Stand!
Hail to the almighty Marcus who sits in his Canadian apartment making life judgments on people he knows nothing about, nor does he care to know so. Unfortunately for us here in the United States all we can do is succumb to his Jack Booted Thuggery because he feels no moral obligation to do the right thing by people. According to articles on the net, here is a man who actually takes pride in the fact that he rakes in thousands of dollars daily from Google and other advertisers. He uses the backs of the wretched masses of people looking for love. Articles on the net state he brags about not having a staff to handle any issues or problems. Is it that he in his God like persona can handle it all? He presses that “Delete this profile button” quicker than an evil despot says get rid of them all. He does not care if you are guilty or innocent. When he gets up in the morning, he does not smell the coffee, all he has is the sweet smell of money up his nose. Have you got the “This will be your only warning” message? Did you wake up to find you were banished to the phantom zone without the benefit of trial, or an understanding of what you did to deserve such immoral arrogant treatment? “I AM THE ALMIGHTY MARCUS AND CAN CENSOR YOU ANYTIME I CHOOSE TO”! This man actually believes he can do “anything” he wants to people. Perhaps its time a class action law suit was filed against him in the Canadian courts or by proxy through the Federal Courts here in the United States? Perhaps we should find a way to boycott Google. After all, they are the ones feeding his grandiose idea he is untouchable.

Take A Stand Against Jack Booted Thugs!

Review: WHO ARE YOU?
I am a single educated women and former model. I posted a profile with POF. I begin talking to two men. One sent me an email stating how great I looked-I deleted it after reading his profile. He had no car and went on in 2-3 paragraphs explaining why he did not have a car. The reason: he is her in this country illegially. He walks where he needs to go. How is he suppose to pick up a girl for a date? Use the local bus system? The other guy: I talked to on POF for over three years. Never talked by phone or in person. Just chatted on the POF and via email. He was a good looking character according to his POF photo. Had lots of POF favorite followers. This guy when by two last names from Southern Califoria. He sent me picks of two babies he said he adopted. I had moved out of state and he wanted a recent pic of me. I sent one of me coming off the Sundance Ski lift....this was not "sexy" I assume...as he closed his POF and email acct. and left planet Earth. I am very slow.......and not in a hurry to meet a date....I like information...to verify....nothing lost here....except like "the investigator" states but.......precious time!

Review: Nightmare
I was a member of POF for a couple of years and also participated in the forums, where I met some genuinely nice people. However, late last year I started seriously corresponding with one forum member who gave the impression and appreance as well rounded crafsman and musician, his name was Akimmbo. After a couple of weeks of writing back and forth I said we should meet and he was very hesitate and said he thought it would be very romantic if we waited until Christmas, I thought it was odd, I even offered to fly down to where he lived, but no he wanted to wait. We continued to correspond for the next two months, which in hindsight was very unwise on my part, but I did. Finally Christmas arrived and the person I met was not the person in the pictures and I know that a look of shock was on my face because he asked if he looked like his picture and in being too stunned to answer, I said yes. In his pictures he was a tall man with golden hair and beautiful blue eyes. Well the blues were true, the man who showed up was short, with long hair (as in extensions) except for the top of his head which was completely bald, which I didn’t know because he always wears a hat or some how covers his head. If that wasn’t bad enough, the only way I can describe him is as a dirty old hippy who smelled very musty and his facial hair was so long that he would chew on his moustache. During his visit there were so many horrific moments I was in shock and I couldn’t believe I had such a bad choice. Some of the highlights were: He didn’t flush the toliet, he lived in his car, he had beeen arrested a few times and he had been put in a mental institution and it goes on and on. The reason I am telling this story is because, POF is now going to have an option where you can pay. The only thing you get for your money is a gold star next to your name. I wrote in forums that if the are going to charge they need to carefully screen their members so people like Akimmbo cannot pull his hoax on other women, at the very least no photo shopped pictures should be allowed. As I said I was a member for a few years, but after the nightmare with Akimmbo, I could not longer stomach being on POF and I quit.

Review: POF uses fake profiles
Markus Frind found out the perfect way to keep members and increase members. Frind hired customer service people to create fake profiles. Fake profiles are usually short with no "interests" listed. The fake profiles are filled with grammatical errors. Of course there will always be genuine posers behind fake profiles. Just beware of anyone attractive designated with hundreds of admirers.

Review: Good Members but terrible ownership.
I realize it's a free site thanks to the owner... but just because you own it and offer it for free shouldn't mean you can take a big crap on members. I opened an account in late 2007- they deleted it. I reopened an account in September of 2008, they deleted it. I reopened an account on January 2009, they deleted it. Finally I reopened an account yesterday, Feb 4, 2009, guess what just happened! I use no profanity, no nudity, not even a hint of sarcasm... Honestly, people, how did they become so big if all they do is play stupid games like this!!!

Review: Plenty of Nothing
Basically, it’s trashy. The forums, the admins, the clients are all low rent. I hope people will boycott the site.

If your an educated, urban woman don’t waste your time. All you will get is a constant flow of sex laden emails from everyone on the site. The forums are filled with 50+ older women who spend their time insulting men. They look like hillbillies.

Here’s their gimmick. They know that women are the bait, so they let women display just the most trashy profiles, pictures and thread posts. I mean your looking at trailer park trash at best.

Don’t even bother. The admins look like homeless people, unkempt, illiterate, ugly men. This is how one of them writes .... mY jOb iz tO moRitOr. Totally pathetic site.

Review: PoF: I met my wife on that site
The only reason im even taking the time to write this is because i accidentally (through another site not related to dating) had a link to a piece on this site saying that PoF was a scam.

Well, i met my wife on that site and have had nothing but good exp with that site.

Of course your going to run across ads that aren't entirely true, or maybe someone who doesn't post real pics of themselves.
Although this has never happened to me, i can understand a complaint about something like that, that was mentioned in the other review.
But lets be honest, you're going to run across that at EVERY dating site.

Anyhow, they don't take any personal info from you like a CC# or SS#, they don't spam you, you don't need to sign up for any amount of time, you don't have a very rigid communication method (yes, im looking at you Eharmony), and its free.

I dont know how you can beat that seeing as its free.

Anyhow, i haven't been on the site since i met my current (and only, haha) wife... so if some of this isn't true 1.5 years later. I apologize.

Otherwise, i think this is a great site.

Review: The Plenty of Fish Romance Scam:
The Plenty of Fish Romance Scam: To the person who hypothesized, "Is Plenty of Fish a Romance Scam?" After several months of finding duplicate stolen pics on POF, I tested the question you posed, and in my opinion as a professional Private Investigator, the answer to your question is a 100% "yes." I base it on the following: 1. There appears to be thousands of POF profiles that use multiples of the same stolen pics (remember, POF says that romance scammers will be deleted). 2. Within 24 hours of reporting a pair of romance scammers to POF (and also informing the romance scammers that they were caught), my profile was deleted (remember, POF says that romance scammers will be deleted, but if you turn them in, then you, the one with legitimate pics gets deleted, while the romance scammers profiles remains intact! Why, because the romance scam profiles generate a mega numbers of hits, and if all the romance scam profiles were deleted from POF, then POF would not make the millions it makes off of advertisers, like what that person said about Google for example. 3. Ok, so I tried to make a couple of fake profiles using stolen pics to test the system, and bam boom, within minutes my fake profiles were deleted. What a minute, then how do all those fake profiles keep from getting deleted. Only one explanation. Only the fake profiles that POF appears to posts are the ones that don't get deleted! Disgusting. Its supposed to be free, but unsuspecting legitimate users pay the high price of wasted time! 4. Just for example (out of thousands of examples) check out these two POF members: Both 34-year-old POF " Rodeo Queen " and 27-year-old POF " blueyedgirlnextdoor " appear to be using stolen pics from the same victim! Ok, so what if they are romance scams, but I think POF is the one that posted them because if you tip them off that you know they are scammers, then your profile will get deleted, and if you report them to POF then your profile will get deleted! (I bet if POF reads this then they will delete them to hide evidence) In the history of the Internet, I believe that POF in terms of number of victims and number of romance scammers/spammers, POF could be the largest scam site ever. I guess if POF started receiving a five thousand dollar fine per romance scam (hey, these are the same as spam), then maybe POF would not be such a waste of valuable time. If I had the time, I'd start a website for victims of POF romance scams, dedicated to bringing a class action lawsuit against POF, but at this time, I don't have the time. Anyone else have the time?

Review: My neighborhood is more fun than POF
I’ve just deleted my POF profile after only being on it for three weeks. I sent out 29 emails and, though I did at least manage to get four replies that were positive, out of those 4, there was only one who I would really liked to have met outside of the online world. Unfortunately, after she asked me to complete an online Myers-Brigg assessment, which came up as a personality profile shared by 2% of the population, she informed me that she had met somebody through the site that she found intriguing and preferred only to deal with one guy at a time. Well, fair enough, I thought. So I emailed her telling her that she was somebody I would’ve liked to have met offline, told her she had my contact information (I’d given her my phone # and email address) and said that if it didn’t work out, please feel free to contact me. Then I thought about all the time I’d spent getting to that stage, and decided that, with my career interest (and believe me, unlike probably at least 3/4 of the population, I HAVE found my life’s calling and do enjoy what I do), my workout schedule at the gym and an activity completely unrelated to work that brings me joy and peace, I simply do not have the time to waste on this site. Potential coffee dates with strangers online who I will probably never meet? What’s the point?

Review: As good as it gets (and free!)
I have quite enjoyed Plenty of Fish. There are many ways in which you can search for someone to connect with (personality, infinite interests, drop boxes....lots of drop boxes!). You can also restrict someone from e-mailing you if they don't meet your age/sex/relationship type/location criteria, which is an excellent idea. The inclusion of forums, quizzes and 'rate my picture' means there is other stuff to do with the site besides review profiles. The average quality of the users is high, which I'm chalking up to the fact that this site relies mostly on word-of-mouth rather than advertising. There are, however, parts of the website that aren't so slick, like the fact that they warp photographs in order to make them thumbnail size...but who judges someone in two dimensions anyway?

Review: Should be a DATING site and not a forum site
A Canadian site, POF forum moderators, show favoritism to Canadian Posters, who bash Americans on a daily basis. The hauty, nasty behavoir only serves to alienate Americans from the site. Two things that normal people are taught never to talk about in debate form....religion and politics. POF has catagories in the forum for these, thus encouraging daily fights requiring them to use MANY moderators.

Wow. I thought I was just being paranoid about the gynocentric nature of the moderators on POF, but it looks like my suspicions have been confirmed by others rating the site. I got booted off without explanation - it turned out to be a blessing in diguise - POF was a complete waste of time. Lots of girls with 50 to 100 favorites, yet they are still looking for the Bigger and Better Deal. Never before have so many men been so inadequate for so many women.

Review: The mods have absolutely no sence of etic.
You start a funny thread everybody enjoy. You are promoting yourself!! They delete the thread and give you restrictions! You start a thread with a line that says something negative about you. Self pity!!! delete, restrict!! Mods look at what you write while you write and they change the section it get posted!! Then you are stuck with a post that you wouldn't have posted if it was going to be there!! Too many rules for the brain to deal with.. and since what human say is somehow maleable they force the rules on anything/anyone as they feel. Very frustrating place to be.. a big big 0 on ethic and they don't seem to be open to hear anything about it. Don't go there to help, they'll tag you as someone trying to pass for a good person and.... Apart etic, the rest is good. It can be a good place if you just want to put on your profile to see what will happen.

Review: plenty of nazi moderators
POF moderators ban or suspend people without legitimate reason, show favoritism, and are generally on a power trip. POF has so many rules it's impossible to be familiar with them all, and many of them are ridiculous.

Review: Plenty of Fish. The anti male discrimination site.
Plenty of Fish is where all the internet liars, scammers, whiners, and so on hang out. Plenty of Fish have their own rules to use their site, but the problem is their own rules don't apply to female members. Their rules only apply to male members. Female members break the Plenty of Fish rules all the time and get away with it. I've never seen a site that has so many female members who splash their phone number and email address all over the site to guys and then call the police on the guys who contact them.

Review: Drunks, liars and drug addicts
POF is very cliquish. And if you dont fit or agree with them...your banned...period. Mods are very slanted to members they are either sleeping with or want to sleep with.
